Continuing Professional Development Courses

The UCD Centre for Ethics in Public Life runs a range of continuing professional development courses.

These include short two-hour courses, as well as half-day or full day courses.

Courses may be delivered either hybrid or in-persons.

Our short courses are for professionals who are currently working in, or who have previous experience of working in, the public or private sector at the national level. They are aimed at those who wish to learn from leading UCD academics and practicing professional experts about ethical practices, ethical responsibility and decision-making skills, as well as ethical issues around equality, diversity and inclusion.

We also offer targeted CPD courses for a range of specific ethical training related to medical issues, health and illness, patient knowledge, ethics and rights, and ‘equality, diversity and inclusion’.

The Centre also specializes in courses for school teachers wishing to acquire skills and knowledge to teach philosophy in primary or secondary schools using the P4C/PwC (Philosophy with Children pedagogy). We offer philosophical knowledge that also supports teachers on the Junior Cycle short course.

Courses will be listed here as dates become available.
