Employee Wellbeing Supports

This page pulls together links for the wide range of wellbeing supports available to UCD employees. You are encouraged to engage with these supports should you have any concerns or worries or share them amongst your colleagues and peers.

Employee Assistance Service

- a 24/7/365 free and confidential support service designed to assist you in dealing more effectively with any personal or work-related problems you might be facing. The service can be used by a UCD employee, their spouse, civil partner and dependents where the family member can be described as over the age of 18 and residing in the family home.

Mental Health

The Mental Health First Aid Peer Support Group supports employees who may be feeling overwhelmed at any stage of their lives or are concerned about their mental health and wellbeing. They provide non-judgemental, confidential support and information to employees on a strictly confidential basis. All members have received training and are available for zoom discussions and in person meetings when conditions allow. Healthy UCD also promotes mental health information to employees and students.

Dignity & Respect Support Service

Launched on 1 September 2021, this website brings together information on the supports available if you have been impacted by bullying, harassment or sexual misconduct. You'll find guidance on how you can raise concerns and the options for resolving issues of a dignity and respect nature. There is also information on the Bullying & Harassment and Sexual Misconduct policies, the processes for raising and addressing concerns, how to make a formal complaint and the support and training available.

Support for Parents

A Parent Buddy Programme has been established to offer support to employees who have family obligations or who may be preparing to become a parent. In addition, a Support for Parents webpage has been developed with links to resources and advice.

Support for Carers

A regularly updated Support for Carers webpage had been developed, which lists related policies, supports and relevant webinars and information.

Disability Supports

The Staff Disability Network provides peer support for those with a visible or invisible disability . A dedicated Disability Support webpage provides information and resources.

LGBTI Supports

The LGBTI Staff Network supports UCD’s community of employees and their diverse gender identities and expression. In addition, the LGBTI Supports webpage outlines our policies and provides support and resources, including reference to UCD Pride and the activities that take place.

Multicultural Supports

The UCD Multicultural Employee Network (MENU) offers a forum that brings together members of the community from other cultures and those interested in other cultures to support each other, exchange experiences and ideas and promote multicultural awareness in UCD.

Financial Wellbeing

The Culture & Engagement Financial Wellbeing page offers a range of financial information and advice designed to support employees to take more control of their financial future.
